IS RECRUITING A
COUNSELLOR / PSYCHOTHERAPIST (GAMBLING)
MAIN ROLE:
TO WORK WITH AND SUPPORT PEOPLE WHO HAVE A GAMBLING ADDICTION AND
THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH HARMFUL GAMBLING BY PROVIDING ONE-TO-ONE
COUNSELLING/THERAPEUTIC SESSIONS.
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORK OF THE FRCS IN ASCERTAINING NEEDS,
DEVELOPING POLICY, AND PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RELATION TO GAMBLING
ADDICTION.
* This position is a three-year limited contract as part of a funded
pilot project which is dependent on continued funding each year.
* Relevant qualification in Counselling & Psychotherapy from an
IACP/IAHIP/FT accredited body is essential.
* Specific training in relation to counselling people with a
gambling addiction is required, e.g. Certificate in Gambling
Addiction, or a commitment to complete this or another relevant course
as soon as possible will be accepted.
* Employment is subject to Garda Vetting, satisfactory references,
and a six-month probation period which could be extended depending on
the need for completing a relevant course..
* Flexible working hours will be expected; evening and perhaps
weekend sessions are likely..
